Community Care

At Citipointe Church we follow in the example and words of Jesus when it comes to being an influence in the community in which we are planted.  Outside our four walls is a hurting, troubled world of need that desperately needs the compassion and love of Christ. Our mandate is simple and based in Proverbs and Isaiah…

Proverbs 31 “ Open your mouth for those unable to speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are left desolate and defenseless. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and administer justice for the poor and needy.”

Isaiah 61.  “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me

  1. proclaim good news to the poor
  2. bind up the brokenhearted
  3. proclaim freedom for the captives
  4. proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
  5. comfort all who mourn
  6. provide for those who grieve in Zion…

To bestow on them a crown of beauty
 instead of ashes,
 the oil of joy
 instead of mourning,
 and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
 a planting of the Lord
for the display of his splendor.

They will rebuild the ancient ruins
 and restore the places long devastated;
they will renew the ruined cities
that have been devastated for generations”

We are surrounded by a local community within a city that groans under the weight of ever increasing socio economic disadvantage. There has never been a better time for the Church to bring hope and help to those that live in our neighbourhoods. It’s simply people caring for people. Our example is Jesus – who was, is and will always be about having eyes for the one.

Citipointe Care provides…

Food Hampers

Sometimes the budget is just too tight and people need a little help making the money go around.  Our food hampers help people through those tough times.

Kids Hope

A primary school mentoring program for kids identified as needing extra support due to a home situation that isn’t always ideal.  One hour per week is all it takes to make a difference in a child’s life for now, and for their future. Helping out at the Kids Hope brekkie on a Wednesday is an added bonus if you have the time!

Men’s Shed

Each Tuesday and Thursday the men gather at The Shed to plan, create, build and chat.  While the work is being done, there’s plenty to shoot the breeze about with a heap of wisdom to be found in the many life experiences in the room.  For men only – if you have spare time, come and see what the guys are up to at the Society House from 9am.

Winter Warmth

A practical outreach for reaching the homeless, those sleeping rough or those living under the pressure of disadvantage – taking warmth and love to the parks in Logan and beyond.  Whether it be collecting soup tins, blankets or pj’s, helping pack the bags or going to the parks to give out the warmth, you can be involved!

Christmas Hampers

Each December it is our privilege to pack food for those who may go without on the most joyous day of the year.  Side by side we pack hundreds and hundreds of hampers to give to our community  – last year we gave out 820 hampers and our goal this year is to reach well over 1000! Why don’t you join us – it will absolutely bless you as you bless others!  Details come late in the year.
