New Youth Society is a movement of young people who freely represent Jesus everywhere we go! We are passionate about being examples of Jesus’ love and power in our schools, our families, our social groups, our sporting clubs, in the shopping centre and everywhere we go in society. We unmistakably influence our world for good and for God!

JOIN US! ALL HIGH SCHOOLERS ARE WELCOME! New Youth Society is led by Pastors Chris & Shannon Hodgman, along with the best team in the world – young adults & student pioneers who are passionate about investing in Brisbane’s teenagers. We gather weekly on Friday nights and Sunday mornings every week of the school term and in NYS Groups.

About Chris and Shannon Hodgman

Chris (26yo) and Shannon (22yo) are the Youth Pastors of Citipointe Church in Brisbane. They were recently married in June 2015. Both Chris and Shannon are wildly passionate about teenagers and seeing them represent Jesus’ love and power to their friends, families, schools and every part of society they touch. Both born and bred in Brisbane, they know God has called them to serve Brisbane relentlessly and see it become the City of God.

Shannon is studying a dual degree in Business Management and Psychology and has been working at Citipointe Church since 2011. Chris studied Social Science while working at IKEA; completed a management course there and since August 2015 has been employed at the church.

Both Chris and Shannon have served in youth ministry for 8 years, running leadership teams, life groups, programs, entertainment shows and events. They are both passionate about the local church and continue to invest their whole lives into seeing young people follow and exemplify Jesus.

Weekly Programs at Brisbane

Fridays

Every week of the school term on Friday nights on the church property in the Society House from 6:30-9pm, hundreds of high-schoolers from all over Brisbane, different schools and different backgrounds gather together at Citipointe Church. This is a great place to bring all your friends, those who may have never been to church and for those who come every week!

Sundays

On Sundays during our 8:30am and 10:15am service, we run a youth program at Society House for high schoolers. While the adults are in church, we are having loads of fun together, playing games, hanging out, and equipping you to grow spiritually and to influence your world for good and for God.

NYS Groups

xxx

At New Youth Society, our leaders want to be there for all the high schoolers in our care. We run NYS Groups during the week for all different age and gender groups. This is a place where teenagers feel welcome, accepted, valued and heard – where they can discuss their questions and issues in a small group, with an older role model, while being a part of a great group of friends!

Grade 7s to 9s will have NYS Groups on Sundays as part of our Sunday morning program at 10:15am, while the Grade 10-12s have NYS Groups during the week at different times. Please contact us for more info via 33438888 or youth@citipointechurch.com.

FAQs for PARENTS

What happens at New Youth Society programs?

All our programs have non-negotiables such as praise and worship, the Word of God, fun and an opportunity to see the sick healed. These elements are always in and amongst every service with hang times, games and group activities that take place in a fun, safe and life-changing environment.

What time does the program finish?

Friday nights start at 6:30pm and finish at 9pm which is when we would love all parents to please pick up your children. We will never leave children unattended until they have been picked up, but if you will be later than 10pm it would be great to let one of our team know. Sundays finish at 11:30am.

Why must my child sign in?

All children must be signed in so that they can fall under our Duty of Care and Code of Conduct. This also means in case of any emergency we can account for everybody who is at our program.
